Welcome to the future home of the Combat Kungfu of Cushing website.

Our group has combined the time honored traditional training of Hung Gar Kung Fu with the best of Combat sport; Cage fighting.

Our site is under construction at the moment, but check back often to gain an understanding of this very old and effective combination of training.

The Tiger and Crane styles are at the core of our training, so much so that Hung Gar is even known as the Tiger and Crane System.
Throughout History, Hung Gar and other Kung Fu systems has promoted Health and Wellness through a combination of physical exercise, meditation and breath control. This is not to take away from the Self Defense aspects of this wonderful art.

Hung Gar was the First Mixed Martial Art. First, Hung Hei Koon combined the Tiger style he had mastered at the temple with the Crane style he learned from His Wife.
Latter, Wong Fei Hung introduced knowledge from his father and other martial artists he had trained with as he traveled with his father on medical and trading missions.

Hung Gar Masters taught in private in houses, on roof tops and even on river boats. The low stances and short, powerful strikes made this a very good close quarters combat system,
not to mention the introduction of Chi Gung which makes for a very healthy and effective training system.

Now modern cage fighters and traditional Kung Fu practitioners have come together to train for both health and effective street defense and cage fighting.

For more information watch for new pages with articles and information on modern cage fighting, self defense and time honored traditions as our school and website grows.
